Chain Mode
The endless Pokémon chain survival mode — also known as PokéChain.
Where the daily puzzle has a fixed start and end, Chain mode never stops. One Pokémon sits at the head of the chain and a connection rule appears — your job is to pick any Pokémon that satisfies it. That pick becomes the new head, a fresh rule shows up, and the chain grows. How far can you get?
Lives and no repeats
You play with 1 life (sudden death) or 3 lives. A pick that doesn't satisfy the rule — or a Pokémon you've already used — costs a life, because no Pokémon can be repeated in a run. As your chain gets longer, the pool of unused Pokémon shrinks and every rule gets tougher to answer.
Score and difficulty
Your score is the length of your chain, and your best run is saved per difficulty. Normal uses the everyday connections; Hard pulls from the deeper rule set. Not sure what a rule is asking for? The connections guide explains every one with examples.
Tips for a long chain
- Favour flexible, popular Pokémon early — ones with common types and broad connections keep your options open.
- Save your rare picks (legendaries, unique typings) for rules only they can satisfy.
- Watch for directional rules — the arrow decides who has to be faster, heavier or super effective.
FAQ
What is Chain mode?
Chain mode (sometimes called PokéChain) is an endless survival twist on PokéWired. A Pokémon and a rule appear, you pick a Pokémon that satisfies the connection, it becomes the new head of the chain, and a fresh rule appears. You keep going for as long as you can.
How do you lose in Chain mode?
You start with 1 or 3 lives. Picking a Pokémon that doesn't satisfy the current connection — or repeating a Pokémon you've already used — costs a life. When you run out of lives, the run ends and your chain length is your score.
Can I repeat Pokémon?
No. Every Pokémon in a run must be unique, so the longer your chain gets, the harder it becomes to find a valid next pick.
Is my score saved?
Yes. Your best chain length is saved per difficulty, so you can always try to beat your own record in Normal or Hard.
